Do what you can,
About Us
Japan is well-known for its food and culture, but not many people know about how animals are treated. We have a very large pet industry where pets are mass-produced and consumed while many succumb in process, and countless others are put down at local shelters every year. Many foreigners are taken aback to see many unspayed or injured stray cats in any city they visit. So what can we do to treat them better?
Our mission is to make Japan a better place for both animals and humans. We focus on dogs and cats welfare, and striving to educate both the younger generation and current pet owners. Moreover, we offer a range of community services and activities listed that tailored to various lifestyles so people can get involved and participate consistently. We firmly believe that the knowledge is power, and by training more individuals to help animals in their community, we empower them to give a second chance to the animals in need.
What We Do
Educational Programs
(for primary school to university)
We offer classes where the participants learn to be responsible guardians, greet dogs safely to prevent accidents, care for dogs and cats properly, maintain their quality of life, and know the importance of these actions. They are also informed about the pet industry, how dogs and cats are treated as reality, and statistics on the intake and culling at municipal shelters. For more information or if you are interested in giving the opportunity for the students to learn about dogs and cats at your school, please contact us.
Offering Updated "How-To" Information
In order to make animal welfare activities more easy to start or participate for every one, we share the up to date guidance on how to rescue, trap, implement TNR (Trap Neuter Return), find community services, fund organizations, organize adoption events, advocate for animal welfare, create student projects both inside and outside of school, among other activities.
We are able to provide these information with the help of Yui Onishi, the founder of "Pawer." (a non-profit organization that launched this website), who visited over 65 shelters in 8 countries. She believes that directly communicating with local animal helpers and listening to their voice and experiences are crucial in understanding the real issues and finding solutions.
Counseling for Animal Activists
We offer a counseling service for Japanese rescuers and individuals involved in animal welfare, focusing particularly on those who work with dog and cat rescues. Our aim is to provide a listening ear, alleviate their stress, and offer support to prevent them from abandoning their crucial work in helping animals.
Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Support Program
We provide grants for individuals engaged in TNR initiatives for stray cats. In Japan, only a few cities offer grants for TNR, and affordable spaying services are scarce. This scarcity forces many individuals to pay from their pockets, deterring them from continuing this essential work despite having the necessary skills and passion. Your donations can significantly impact these individuals' and community cats' lives.
Donate
Your generous donation today can transform an animal's life and shape Japan's future. It will aid in spaying stray cats, cover other medical expenses, and promote education among locals, increasing the number of individuals committed to helping animals.

Online Store
If you are involved in the animal welfare of rescued dogs and cats in Japan, you'll find invaluable resources here: contracts, forms, flyers, and emergency cards, all crafted to simplify your work. While most of these materials are in Japanese, we strongly advise having contracts signed by both the rescuer and another party whenever rescued animals are transferred for any purpose, including fostering, "trial periods," and adoption, ensuring protection for all involved.
